The Lounge Re-Born!

This past Friday I went to one of my favourite clubs, it’s not in a big town, in fact it’s located in Peterborough, Ontario about 90 miles outside of Toronto. It was a special night as “The Lounge” had just been renovated. New leather couches, VIP rooms with bottle service and plasma screen TV’s everywhere you turn. There’s no chance of missing the game here!

I was invited by one of the owners and a good friend of mine, Mike Skinner (pictured in the black suit). The night started off with a good crowd and then grew into a jam packed event. The music, people and snacks (shrimps, chicken satay and a chocolate fountain) made it even a more spectacular event.

If our communist Provincial government would allow people to smoke in a bar, “The Lounge” would probably be the ultimate place to smoke a cigar, until then I’ll have to use their giant patio outside.

In other news, I got my IQ result from CBC's Test the Nation program that I was on last Sunday. Based on my age, I got a score of 121, the highest score was 137, my team score was 118 so I was above average for my team and the nation. That's a relief!

The eBay Mystery

An old friend came to visit me the other day, I haven’t seen him for a few years so it was good to catch up. We ate a serious amount of steak, so much that I can't even stand to look at the 2lbs left over in the fridge! We partied, we ate and we partied some more and sometime during we decided we wanted to smoke cigars. So we got some tarps and made a tent of sorts, it really became more of a mess than anything else but it served the purpose. We smoked cigars and then realized that there was a heated patio downtown. So off we went and smoked more cigars there. That's where this picture was taken.

Over the course of the weekend eBay came up in a conversation. Apparently there are Mystery Auctions where people bid on boxes that could have nothing in them at all. I couldn’t believe that people actually bid on this stuff, and I thought we could do something better.

So we sat and figured out how to put together a Mystery Auction that wouldn’t leave people feeling ripped off and that’s when Gareth (my buddy) mentioned all the junk we’ve got around the office. It’s actually not junk, but brand new stuff that we’ve received, tested, re-boxed and put away.

And here we have it, a mystery auction for RICH GUY Magazine. Can you guess what it is? Do you want to take a shot at bidding? I’m curious to see how high the bidding gets because aside from what’s in the box, the winner get a great mention in the Editor’s Blog !
